Through hard work and with a positive attitude, he managed to overcome his struggles and founded Cyber Youth Singapore to provide young people like him a safe platform to explore their interests in cyber security. For his contributions, he received the IT Youth of the Year award 2020! |
| LIM JIA YI VENUS DSTA Scholarship recipient 2021 DISM Class of 2021 The curriculum offered by SP DISM has allowed Venus to explore on topics such as secure coding, cryptography, digital forensics, malware analysis, and security policies. The school projects also gave her hands-on experience on building web and mobile applications. She is appreciative on how the Final Year Project allows her to explore on a topic of her choice, giving her the flexibility to work on something that spark her interests. |
| LOW JUN JIE XAVIER Public Service Commission Scholarship recipient 2021 National Young Leader Award 2019 DBIT Class of 2020 Having no coding experience before entering SP, Xavier was able to expand his computing skills and given opportunities to explore various subjects such as entrepreneurship, marketing, analytics, and even design and media. There were also
many projects which allowed him to hone his leadership ability and style. Xavier is to pursue a degree in Information Systems at the Singapore Management University. |
| TEO CHUAN KAI Public Service Commission Scholarship recipient 2019 DISM Class of 2019 While Chuan Kai always knew that he wanted a career in cybersecurity, it was not until an internship opportunity with GovTech that he realised that most importantly, he wanted to make a positive impact on people who rely on and utilise
digital government services. A career in the Singapore Public Service would provide him the opportunity to serve the nation and shape Singapore’s cybersecurity landscape. |
| DANIEL HO JING YANG Public Service Commission Scholarship recipient 2016 DISM Class of 2016 Daniel shared that his goal is to educate others on how to protect themselves from cyber exploitation. During his time in SP, Daniel took up a community involvement project in Nepal, where he experienced the kindness and empathy exhibited
by the locals. The unique experience brought him out of his shell and sparked his desire to serve the community. Daniel is to pursue a degree in Information Security at the National University of Singapore |
| CHIN YI BING Cyber Security Executive, DBS Bank DISM Class of 2016 Yi Bing is part of the offensive security team ensuring a high level of security for DBS Bank applications through penetration tests and application security assessments. She is a certified ThinkSECURE Organisational Systems Security Analyst
and also holds a Certificate of Completion in Mobile Device Forensics. She has completed the Earn and Learn Programme, obtaining a Specialist Diploma in Cyber Security. |
| MOHAMAD DANIEL BIN HAMID Senior Consultant, Centurion Information Security Pte Ltd DISM Class of 2011 A former Technology Consultant (Information Security) at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP, Daniel now performs penetration testing for Centurion Information Security Pte Ltd. Having attained a staggering seven professional certifications by
the end of his final year at SP, Daniel continued to excel at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia, where he was placed on the Dean’s List for Excellent Academic Performance and was awarded the Science and
Engineering Faculty International Merit Scholarship. |
| HENG AIK HWANG EDWARD Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) DISM Class of 2010 Edward is part of the team under HTX Cybersecurity Centre of Expertise to safeguard Home Team’s systems. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), GIAC Certified
Incident Handler (GCIH) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and his final year project clinched the SPInnovex Gold Award in Singapore Polytechnic. Edward graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Engineering (Computer Science) at Nanyang
Technological University in 2015. He co-authored a paper on his NTU project that was awarded the title of “Interesting FYP” and published at the 6th Annual International Conference on Computer Science Education, Innovation
