Course Objective

Participants successfully completing this course will, in the event of a fire on board a ship, be able to take command, effectively organise personnel, and control fire-fighting operations using techniques, this course will train them in. Participants will also acquire knowledge of fire prevention, as well as ability to inspect and maintain fire-extinguishing systems and equipment.

Competence 1 - Control of Fire Fighting Operations Onboard Ships
Competence 2 - Organise and Train Fire Parties
Competence 3 - Inspect and Service Fire Detection and Extinguishing Equipment
Competence 4 - Investigate and Compile Reports on Incidents Involving Fire

*Practical training will be conducted at COSEM

Minimum Requirements

Must possess a 'Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Course' certificate or equivalent (under STCW Reg.VI/1), be Physically and Medically Fit for strenuous activity, as well as proficient in the English language

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
