This course aims to equip participants with knowledge of environment impact assessment for development project from initial concept to construction.

Course Objective

This course provides the participant with a basic knowledge of Environment Impact Assessment, outline the potential environmental impacts for any development, and apply the assessment to their design and planning in their workplace. The participant will gain knowledge of environmental

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

1. Explain the Basic Concepts About Environment Impact Assessment
2. Apply the Principle of Environment Impact Assessment (Physical, Chemical, Biological, Environmental, Trans-boundary impacts and Before, during, and after construction of the proposed development.)
3. Conduct Measurement of Environment Impact Assessment (Land, Air, and Sea Environment)
4. Apply Good Practices in Environment Impact Assessment
5. Apply Methods of Assessment and Monitoring
6. Use of Computerized Software Modelling in the Environment Impact Assessment

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree from the National University of Singapore, the Nanyang Technological University or other universities which is acceptable to the Commissioner; or
  • A local polytechnic diploma with 2 years of relevant working experience; or
  • WPLN L7 in reading, listening, speaking, writing and numeracy; or
  • WPLN L6 in reading, listening, speaking, writing and numeracy with 2 years of relevant working experience

Certification / Accreditation


• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate

Eligible participants who have completed the course with Certificate of Completion will be awarded with 8 Safety Development Unit (SDU) points by Singapore Institute of Safety Officers (SISO) within the validity period as indicated by SISO. Please inform the administrator 2 weeks prior to course commencement if you would like to earn the SDU points.
