This course aims to support National Environment Agency (NEA) requirements on in-depth noise management for construction sites and the expectations of the neighbourhood 

Course Objective

This course will enable participants who are managing the workplace to be aware of the relevant regulations, understand noise and its measurements, and noise control techniques so that they would be able to prepare and implement a good noise management plan and thus manage the expectations of the neighbourhood.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

1. Explain Basic Concepts and Principles About Sound and Noise
2. Describe Principle of Noise Propagation
3. Apply Measurement of Noise
4. Apply Good Practices in Noise Measurements
5. Apply Methods of Noise Control and Mitigate the Impact of Noise on the Environment
6. Comply with Relevant Legal Requirements on Noise in Singapore
7. Meet Challenges in Managing Noise 
8. Apply Requirements and Elements of a Good Noise Management Plan
9. Prepare a Noise Management Plan for a Workplace
10. Manage the expectations of the neighbourhood in relation to noise
11. Assessment

Minimum Requirements

• A degree from the National University of Singapore, the Nanyang Technological University or other universities which is acceptable to the Commissioner; or
• A local polytechnic diploma with 2 years of relevant working experience; or
• WPLN L7 in reading, listening, speaking, writing and numeracy; or
• WPLN L6 in reading, listening, speaking, writing and numeracy with 2 years of relevant working experience

Certification / Accreditation


• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate

Eligible participants who have completed the course with Certificate of Completion will be awarded with 8 Safety Development Unit (SDU) points by Singapore Institute of Safety Officers (SISO) within the validity period as indicated by SISO. Please inform the administrator 2 weeks prior to course commencement if you would like to earn the SDU points.

Application Procedure

1. For self-sponsored applicant, please click on the “Register” button to apply for the course. You will be directed to STEP portal to manage all your course activities. Please note that you will be prompted to sign in with Singpass/Student ID.
 
2. For company-sponsored applicant, please approach your company's Human Resource (HR) team to put in the application through the company portal using CorpPass.  You may only apply after receiving the registration link from your company's HR.
 
3. Your application does not guarantee acceptance into the course. Your acceptance into the course is dependent on meeting the course requirements and course vacancy.
 
4. All successful applicants will be notified with a letter of confirmation via email.
 
6. PACE Academy course schedules, including course trainer, course fees and course availability are subject to change.

7. PACE Academy reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course at short notice; & at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason for such cancellation/postponements. In the event that the applicant’s chosen course is cancelled prior to its commencement, PACE Academy will make a full refund of course fees already paid by the applicant.
