Singapore and Malaysia have a long history of close economic ties. The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone presents an exciting new chapter in this bilateral economic collaboration, leveraging the strengths and resources of both countries to create a dynamic economic zone that will attract investments, foster trade, and generate employment opportunities.
MIDA is Malaysia’s principal agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry to oversee and drive investments into manufacturing and service sectors in Malaysia. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, MIDA has 12 states and 21 overseas offices, and is the strategic partner to businesses in seizing opportunities amid technological advancements.
Mr. Vinothan Tulisinathzan, currently Director of MIDA Singapore since January 2022, joined MIDA, Agro-Based Industries Division in 2017, evaluating projects. He was subsequently transferred to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Division and was responsible for attracting FDIs from Asia Oceania region such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. 2012 saw him being posted to MIDA San Jose for five years, playing a significant role in promoting investments from Silicon Valley into Malaysia.
From 2017-2021, he served in the Oil & Gas and Maritime Technology and Chemical & Advanced Material Divisions covering development of chemicals, plastics and rubber among others.
