Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP) 2021 Daily Updates: Day 1
November 23, 2021
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
This year’s ITAP witnessed the signing of not one but three MOUs with valued industry partners.
1. Tripartite Agreement between SP, Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and JTC
Together with SBF and JTC, SP signed a MoU to provide integrated support to SMEs in the manufacturing industry so that they may start and scale-up their i4.0 transformation journey with confidence.
Working closely with SBF’s Industry 4.0 Human Capital Initiative, the tripartite agreement aims to support SMEs by leveraging on transformation-led training programmes provided by SP through its Company and Workforce Transformation (CWT) initiative. This is supported by SP’s Advanced Manufacturing Learning Journey (AMLJ) and Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for i4.0 Professionals, Executives and Associates; developed to provide further insight and support in i4.0 transformation.
With this MoU, JTC will endeavour to effectively promote business transformation to over 14,000 companies in its estates, by connecting them to solution providers, trade associations and chambers, and government agencies.
2. Partnership with Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) and Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC)
SP, SIMTech, and ARTC will capitalise on each other’s capabilities to provide learning opportunities for companies in the manufacturing sector to adopt i4.0 technologies. This includes training courses in areas such as human capital transformation, designed to upskill the manufacturing workforce. The Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA) which is involved in facilitating this MoU, will also provide guidance and alignment on the development of these training courses.
SIMTech and ARTC will also offer internship opportunities to SP students and industry attachment opportunities to SP staff.
3. Partnership with MicroStrategy
MicroStrategy, the largest independent publicly-traded business intelligence company, signed its first MOU in ASEAN with SP to offer local companies greater access to its enterprise BI application software solutions. MicroStrategy’s analytics platform enables many Global Fortune 500 brands to build and deploy Business Intelligence (BI), data analytics, and visualisation solutions.
Under the MOU, both parties will leverage SP’s network of industry partners and SMEs to offer efficient SME-appropriate versions of BI-application solutions and expertise. In addition, SP and MicroStrategy will organise digital transformation and i4.0-related events, training courses, and workshops to support the i4.0 needs of SMEs and SP’s industry partners in their business transformation journey.

Visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr Heng Swee Keat
SP also had the privilege to host Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr Heng Swee Keat, at our booth and were greeted by our very own students, Chin Soo Yin and Nadya Amirah from School of Architecture and Built Environment (ABE). He was then brought on a tour around the i4.0 Experience Zone, experiencing first-hand the latest enabling i4.0 technologies. We are thrilled to share that DPM thoroughly enjoyed our booth and even featured SP on social media.
