Shaping the Future of HR in Singapore
October 11, 2023
Singapore Polytechnic once again showcased its dedication to nurturing HR talent and fostering sustainable practices in the field. The recent 4th HR Symposium 2023, themed "Sustainability in HR for Business Success," was a resounding success, reflecting SP's ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in HR.
One of the key highlights of the event was the momentous signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP), Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE). Minister of State for Manpower and Education Ms Gan Siow Huang was present at the event, and the MoU aims to pave the way for the development and delivery of co-branded micro-credentials, providing pathways for the continuous upskilling and reskilling of the HR sector, thus ensuring its resilience and growth.
Discussions at the symposium revolved around the crucial role of sustainability in HR practices. Focusing on creating inclusive workplaces, prioritising employee well-being, and aligning corporate social agendas with diverse workforce needs, the event underscored SP's commitment to fostering a sustainable and equitable working environment.
A special thank you goes out to our esteemed keynote speakers, Neetha Nair, Prudential's CHRO, and Derrick Teo, CEO of Elitez Group. Their invaluable contributions and thought-provoking insights further reinforced our dedication to implementing sustainable HR practices in our organisation.
The success of the symposium highlights SP's unwavering dedication to collaboration and innovation within the HR community. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the staff members who actively participated and supported the event. Your dedication and hard work were instrumental in making this event a great success.
