Food Sustainability @ FHA 2024 - Harvest Hues: Transformed Snacks

May 06, 2024

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Enterprise Singapore for inviting Food Innovation & Resource Centre (FIRC) the invaluable opportunity to showcase our innovative solutions in side-stream valorisation at the FHA-Food & Beverage 2024 event.

During our presentation, we unveiled a diverse array of upcycled food products creatively crafted from often-overlooked side streams, including ugly and unsold edible vegetables, spent almond nut pulps, chicken carcass, near-expiry or unsold breads, and spent coffee grounds. These innovative solutions epitomize our commitment to sustainability, prioritizing minimal ingredients and employing straightforward processing techniques to maximize resource efficiency.

Visitors were treated to an immersive tasting experience, sampling delectable creations such as our tantalizing tasty veggie pops, nourishing rich bone broth, delectable almond pulp cookies that marry indulgence with eco-consciousness.

We are fervently enthusiastic about our role in contributing to food sustainability using food science and technology, recognizing the pivotal role it plays in shaping a more environmentally responsible future. Should you desire further insights into our capabilities and explore potential collaborations, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at FIRC@sp.edu.sg.

Together, let us embark on this transformative journey towards a greener, more sustainable tomorrow.
