Launch Of Bilateral Food Exchange Partnerships Between Vietnam And Singapore

Food Innovation & Resource Centre (FIRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on bilateral food exchange partnerships between Vietnam and Singapore. The MOU was jointly signed by Mr. David Chai, Director of Department for Technology, Innovation and Enterprise, Singapore Polytechnic; Mr. Teri Teo, co-founder of L-earth; and Mr. Justin Tan, Deputy CEO of HAO Mart.

The MOU will see FIRC, L’earth and HAO Mart step up cooperation in several areas, such as assistance in exportation and logistics, distribution and marketing, networking and market testing, to help Singapore food companies enter into Vietnam market, and vice versa. As part of the collaboration, FIRC will provide scientifically validated consumer sensory analysis services to Singapore food companies with the aim to gain Vietnamese consumer insight. The research will be conducted in different phases, which includes Vietnam in-market product sensory evaluation. With the valuable insights gathered, businesses will have more information to facilitate critical decision making involving product selection, quality improvement and brand optimisation. Furthermore, FIRC will also provide technical support to companies to modify/fine tune the products to better meet the taste preference of Vietnamese consumers; and explore opportunity for overseas student internship in Vietnam
