FIRC’s nutritionist Carolyn Stephen explained the nutritional aspects of the “Deepavali Legiyam” on a segment on Vasantham News being aired on Nov 2 2021. The “Deepavali Legiyam” is a herbal concoction made up of spices and herbs used in day to day traditional Indian foods (e.g. cumin, carrom seeds, coriander seeds, black pepper) along with jaggery, ghee and honey. It is popularly consumed during the Deepavali season to prevent indigestion.
