Editorial featured SP’s Diploma in Marine Engineering graduate, Phylicia Ku, who is now an engine cadet at Cheng Xin ShipManagement. The 20-year-old shared about her cadetship experience and her plans to build her career and upgrade her knowledge by taking up more courses when she is back on shore. Phylicia will also be one of the panellists at the Careers at Sea & Beyond Forum and Exhibition, an event organised by the Singapore Maritime Foundation in partnership with SP’s Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA), the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, and Wavelink Maritime Institute (WMI). The event aims to encourage more Singaporeans to consider careers at sea, whether as a deck officer or marine engineer.
