News clip highlighted the SkillsFuture Work-Learn Bootcamp, a new pilot programme which helps job seekers pick up the skills needed to work in sectors with high demand. The programme is open to mid-career professionals as well as graduates from the institutes of higher learning. The 8-12 week crash course will teach participants relevant behavioural and technical skills before they go for an interview for a full time position. Currently, RP and NYP have rolled out the first digital marketing bootcamp this month, while SP and TP will offer one on engineering and big data in the fourth quarter. Another work-learn pathway, the Earn and Learn programme (ELP) has also been expanded to sectors such as artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering. Fresh graduates from polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) are matched with the job before undergoing a structured training. SP’s ELP in Cybersecurity student, Tnay Teng Long, shared how the programme has benefitted him by giving him on-the-job experience and teaching him academic theories that are important for his growth in the industry. Segment from 00:40 – 02:55. Similar story was reported in The Straits Times.
