Stories of hardship that women, cleaning workers, and students go through in 'The Moberly Story'

The SP Malay Language Society will present a historical play titled “Kisah Moberly” against the background of Moberly, a building in SP, which was once part of the Princess Mary Barracks, in the SP Arts Fiesta for 2024 on 8 and 9 November. Part of the block building now houses a museum with military souvenirs and old trophies, as well as teaching equipment donated by ex-soldiers and SP staff. An interesting aspect of this performance is the involvement of a Chinese student, Nicholas Ho, an SP alumnus from the Diploma in Applied Chemistry, now pursuing Business Management (Operation) at SMU, who is also one of the dancers. The play tells the story of Melati, a mother mourning in the 1950s because of the impact of war on her life. Berita Harian will be running a feature story on it post-event.
