Engineering diploma graduate Ethan Tan prepares the classic Hokkien dish 'Lor Mee' using dory fish, following his grandmother's recipe. Ethan graduated from SP with a Diploma in Computer Engineering in 2020. Ethan shares that his father was once against his idea of going into F&B, but became supportive after seeing the success of Mari Mari. At Mari Mari, Ethan learned how to do everything from cleaning to serving customers and cooking. The 24-year-old then went on to work temporarily at The American Club, where he learned to cook Western food, but returned to help his family's business three months later. The Gen Z hawker even invested S$50,000 of his savings (with help from his father), to open a noodle shop. Now, he works alongside three chefs at Udang Udang, helping at the stall next door at Mari Mari.
