Singapore Polytechnic (SP) diploma certificates and academic transcripts for 2006/2007 Semester 1 graduates onwards (i.e. Graduation Ceremony held in May 2007 onwards) is available on OpenCerts, a secured block-chain based platform. A copy of your digital certificate will also be uploaded to your MySkillsFuture Skills Passport, a secured repository that allows you to document your skills, certificates and licences. These platforms were established by the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech) and SkillsFuture Singapore and can be accessed using your handphone: Singpass > MySkillsFuture app.

For Students / Graduates: How to Share Your OpenCerts File

Method 1: Share Directly from MySkillsFuture Website

  • Login to MySkillsFuture Portal
  • Click on the “SHARE SKILLS PASSPORT” button.
  • Select the certificate to share.
  • Key in the recipient’s name and email address and share.

Method 2: Download a copy of the OpenCert file to your computer and email to the recipient

  • Login to MySkillsFuture Portal
  • Click on your name to access a drop-down menu.
  • Select “Skills Passport”.
  • Navigate to the certificate that you want to share.
  • Right-click on the “OpenCerts Download File” icon and save the OpenCert file to your computer.
  • Email the OpenCerts file to your intended recipient.

Email/share the OpenCerts file and OpenCerts website link (best viewed using Chrome) to the recipient e.g. potential employers or universities.

For Employers & Universities: How to Verify a Certificate

Step 1:
Obtain the certificate in OpenCerts file format from your applicant.

Step 2:
Verify by dragging and dropping the OpenCerts file into the verification area on the OpenCerts website (best viewed using Chrome).

Should we ask you to provide certain information, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this statement.

We reserve the right to change this Data Protection Statement from time to time by updating this page.

  • What we do with the information we gather

Your alumni record includes the information you provided as a student. This information is only updated if you provide it voluntarily. The data is kept indefinitely. Any information submitted by an individual may be used to update that individual’s record.

The alumni data collected is limited to what is necessary to facilitate the carrying out of activities by SP as your alma mater. It will be kept confidential and will be used strictly for SP alumni engagement programs. We may share necessary data with other Government agencies, so as to serve you in a most efficient and effective way, unless such sharing is prohibited by law. We will NOT share your personal data with non-Government entities, except where such entities have been authorised to carry out specific Government services.

  • Security

SP recognises the importance of safeguarding personal information. SP has put in place appropriate physical, technical and administrative procedures to minimize the risk of unauthorized access to alumni data, to maintain data accuracy and to ensure the appropriate use of information.

  • Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please update your personal information. We will correct any information found to be incorrect within 4 weeks.

  • Opting Out of Communications

To opt out of receiving communications on SP alumni news and information, please email to SPAN@sp.edu.sg. Please note that this process may take up to 4 weeks to take effect.

Please be aware that if you fully opt out, you will not receive all SP alumni news and information. We plan to increasingly send communications via email, so you may miss out on future notifications if you fully opt out, e.g. event notifications.

Please note that your details will still be held on the alumni database to facilitate disclosure of your personal information as required by law in connection with judicial or administrative proceedings, or in order to fulfil a statutory obligation.

We may still share necessary data with other non-Government entities to carry out specific Government services.
