Biomedical student facilitates SP Students' Engagement Session with Minister Chan

On 28 November 2023, Singapore Polytechnic hosted Minister for Education, Mr Chan Chun Sing, for an engagement session with our students.

Among those present was Donavan Tan Jia Jie, a second-year Diploma in Biomedical Science (DBS) student. Taking on the role of a facilitator, Donavan guided his peers through the small group discussions. He provided valuable support in navigating the conversation topics, assisted in expanding on ideas, and actively encouraged participation from his fellow students.

Here is Donavan's reflection on the experience:

“I am grateful for the opportunity to engage in such rich discussions with my peers. The questions I had raised to facilitate the discussions sparked my own reflections, and I enjoyed hearing diverse perspectives on the conversation topics. Moreover, I found Minister Chan's profound insights truly enlightening. They have illuminated the responsibility we, as youths, bear as we step into the next chapter of Singapore's history. I am committed to fulfilling this responsibility in both my capacity as a student and in my forthcoming professional journey,”
