Elective Certificates

Students are required to complete 3 elective modules listed below: 

• EP0601 - ADVANCED MATHEMATICS 1
• EP0602 - ADVANCED MATHEMATICS 2
• EP0603 - ADVANCED MATHEMATICS 3

Eligibility: 
Students should fulfil any of the following criteria:

• Grade A for students who have taken Engineering Mathematics (EM1 or EM) at year 1
• At least pass in A or AO level Maths for students who have taken Mathematics at GCE A levels
• Grade A for Maths for AI (MS0240) – For DAAA students only
• Grade A GCE ‘O’ Level E-Maths & A Maths for students who have not taken Engineering Maths
• Any others who do not fit into the above criteria will be dealt case by case basis

Note:
Students who perform well in the Advanced Mathematics electives may be considered for module exemption at local universities. Click here for the list of NTU courses and here for the list of NUS courses that offer exemption from their foundational mathematics module, for SP students who have done well in the Advanced Mathematics electives.

To obtain a Certificate in Applied Psychology, students are required to complete any 3 elective modules listed below: 

• EP0706 - INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY
• EP0707 - EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
• EP0708 - BUSINESS NEGOTIATION SKILLS
• EP0711 - APPLYING POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY TO PERSONAL WELL-BEING
• EP0716 - FUNDAMENTALS IN PEER SUPPORT

To obtain a Certificate in Art & Design, students are required to complete 3 elective modules listed below: 
EP0802 - PRODUCT DESIGN
EP0805 - DRAWING
EP0810 - GRAPHIC DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS

To obtain a Certificate in Asia Readiness, students are required to complete 3 elective modules, and should take 1 elective from each domain as shown below:

To obtain in Certificate in Aviation Management, students are required to complete any 3 elective modules listed below: 

EM0503 or EP0503 - INTRODUCTION TO AIRLINE INDUSTRY
EM0504 or EP0504 - AIRPORT TERMINAL OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT
EP0520 - AIRPORT RAMP OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT

Revised Certificate Requirement (with effect from AY24/25 cohort)

The revised certificate requirement will be implemented with effect from AY24/25 cohort. Students from the AY24/25 cohort should follow this requirement if they wish to be awarded the Certificate in Business.

Prevailing Requirement

To obtain the Certificate in Data and Analytics, students should take any three modules from the list below. Do note that some modules have pre-requisites, which themselves are also modules that count towards the Certificate. Please refer to the elective modules listing for the details.

Take any three of the following:
EP0610 – DATA VISUALISATION FOR BUSINESS
EP0611 – THINKING WITH DATA FOR DECSION MAKING
EP0612 – FUNDAMENTALS AND AUTOMATION OF DATA USING EXCEL
EP0302 – PROGRAMMING FOR DATA SCIENCE
EP0304 – MACHINE LEARNING IN PYTHON

Eligibility:

• DAAA students are excluded from this certificate due to the substantial overlap with their primary diploma.
• SB, SMA-DMB or ABE-DFM students who have read MS1522, MS7524 or MS3522 are not eligible to take EP0612. To obtain the Certificate, they can choose to read any three of the remaining four modules in the list above.

To obtain a Certificate in Design & Innovation, students are required to complete any 3 elective modules and at least ONE of the modules with the asterisk (*)

1.  Students are allowed to read either EP0803 (Transdisciplinary Innovation Project) or EP1104 (Overseas Transdisciplinary Innovation Project Experience) only. Eligibility requirements for each module can be obtained from module listing site.
2. Students are advised to do EP1000 (Digital Fabrication & Prototyping Fundamentals first if they intend to take EP1001 (Further Digital Fabrication & Prototyping)

To obtain a Certificate in Digital Media, students are required to complete any 3 elective modules listed below:

With the implementation of the revised certificate requirement, the prevailing requirement for the award of the certificate will be phased out at the end of AY25.
