Industrial 3D printing for Maritime and Built Environment

The Maritime & Port Authority's Joint Industry Programme focuses on 3D printing turbocharger nozzle rings for the maritime sector. Led by Lloyds Register, the consortium includes LRQA, 3D Metalforge, Singapore Polytechnic, Neptune Pacific Lines, Kompressorenbau Bannewitz GmbH, and Professional Testing Services. The project aims to enhance the part's lifespan and performance for ships. Singapore Polytechnic has also showcased high-performance powder production for 3D printing. Additionally, industrial metal 3D printed metal joinery was developed for ADAS tensile membrane structure, resulting in a 37% weight reduction while meeting Building and Construction Authority guidelines for alternative steels.
