Elective Modules

School of Mathematics and Science (MS) offers a suite of elective modules to enhance the students’ learning. There are two broad categories of elective modules offered by MS, namely Preparatory Mathematics and Physics for Universities and the other is on Data Science.

Preparatory Mathematics and Physics for Universities Electives

For those who are planning to go University to further your studies in Engineering, IT course, or Science discipline, a strong foundation in Mathematics and Physics is crucial. Strengthen essential Mathematics and Physics knowledge to prepare for University. You can also receive module exemption from local universities.  

You can take a suite of 3 Advanced Mathematics elective modules to get a Certificate in Advanced Mathematics (AMM) as follows.

Data Science Electives

The digital era is here to stay! Data is ubiquitous! Data in the next 10 years is liken to computer in the last 40 years. Supercharge your career by building deep skills to work with data.

You can take elective modules related to Data Science such as 

• Analytics thinking with Tableau (EP0606)
• Introduction to Statistics for Data Science (EP0607)
• AI Essentials (EP0609)
• Data Visualization for Business (EP0610)
• Thinking with Data for Decision Making (EP0611)
• Fundamentals and Automation of Data Analysis (EP0612)

Minor in Data & Artificial Intelligence 

School of Mathematics and Science also offers Minor in Data & Artificial Intelligence that trains students to develop deep skills to work with Data for AI.

Get a Minor in Data & Artificial Intelligence by studying relevant skills in 5 elective modules. You can also get real industry experience in an internship to get an e-cert in AI Data Apprenticeship (AIDP) issued by AI Singapore.
