BCA recently encouraged projects to use Granite Fines (GF) as an alternative to natural sand for concrete production. GF is a by-product generated from crushing/mining granite aggregates, which makes it more environmentally sustainable and acceptable
compared to natural sand. With the anticipated increase in the adoption of GF, there is a need to study if the possibility of stockpiling GF is appropriate. There are concerns in stockpiling GF due to the perception that GF, being light, can
be easily blown away by wind. This project studies the loss of GF due to wind conditions via Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) numerical simulation.
