Dear alumni
I am thrilled to bring you the 7th issue of our bi-annual EEE Alumni e-newsletter.
We are excited to invigorate connections and foster a supportive network within our EEE alumni community, as we collectively navigate the ever-evolving landscape of engineering and technology.
As EEE embrace the exciting developments in Generative AI, it is with immense pride that I highlight the outstanding achievements of our EEE students in this area. EEE team Kopi O Kosong clinched 1st prize at the NTU Deep Learning Week 2024 Hackathon
with their project “PitchMe” – an innovative platform that leverages advanced AI to refine students’ presentation skills. Furthermore, two of our EEE teams secured the 1st and 2nd positions at the recently concluded National
IoT Competition 2024. Notably, Team InnoVX designed and developed a Generative AI-driven virtual assistant, complete with operator dashboard that simplifies data visualisation and control. These achievements highlight our commitment to innovation
and excellence, and we are thrilled to see our students boldly venturing into the realm of AI and ultimately achieving success.
This edition also features an inspiring story of Mr Terence Teo, one of our distinguished EEE alumnus, Founder and Managing Director of Anewtech Systems Pte Ltd, and President of AutomationSG. Despite his busy schedule, Terence has consistently gone
above and beyond in his service to his alma mater and local community. In this issue, he shares his remarkable life journey and offers valuable nuggets of wisdom for both life and work. Terence also exemplifies the lifelong learning values that
Singapore is advocating, by embarking on his MBA in 2023.
Stay connected, and stay involved!
With warm regards,
Lim Joo Ghee (Dr)
