Lee Wen Wei, a DEEE alumnus, was recently awarded the Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award, Professional Engineers Board Gold Medal, NTU EEE Excellence Award and was also Valedictorian of NTU School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Lee Wen Wei was a DEEE alumnus who achieved excellence in both academic performance (cGPA of 3.986 out of 4.000) as well as co-curricular activities (Gold with Honours).

He continued to shine at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) where he pursued his bachelor’s degree, scoring mostly As and being actively involved in co-curricular activities. In addition, he displayed his entrepreneurial streak by running a 3D printing start-up, and starting another tech start-up.

While at NTU, he also participated in Undergraduate Research Experience on CAmpus (URECA), where his research project focused on photonics. “With the support from Asst. Prof. Nam Donguk and his group members, I was able to publish my findings and presented at one of the world’s top photonics conferences, SPIE Photonics West, in January 2023 in the United States. I was the only undergraduate that presented for my session, and it was rare to have such an opportunity,” he shared.

Wen Wei recently graduated from NTU School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering as its valedictorian. He also received a string of awards - the Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award,Professional Engineers Board Gold Medal and the NTU EEE Excellence Award. Subsequently, he will pursue his PhD under the Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship.

Wen Wei’s exemplary achievements are indeed an inspiration to EEE students that with determination and perseverance, they too can achieve what they set out to accomplish.
