Two EEE teams clinched 1st place at Drone Odyssey Challenge 2024

 

Two EEE teams, SP EEE and Drone SP, clinched Ist Place at Drone Odyssey Challenge 2024 held from 16 to 18 Jul 2024, in three categories C1 and D; and E respectively. This game-based competition aimed to push the boundaries of drone technology. EEE teams  participated in categories C1, D and E that focused on advanced drone applications and capabilities, such as cutting-edge drone systems with advanced autonomy, intelligence, and payload capacity.

Details of the categories are as follows:

i. Category C1: Drone Swarming Challenge
To develop drones for complex indoor environments, emphasising navigation, obstacle avoidance, and payload delivery in confined spaces.

ii. Category D: AI Visual Sensing
To design and build drones for search and rescue missions, requiring drones to operate in challenging outdoor conditions and perform tasks such as locating victims, delivering emergency supplies, and providing real-time data.

iii. Category E: Drone Soccer
To explore new and creative uses for drone technology with innovative drone applications.

The students were guided by Andrew Tan and Chua Boon Leong. Details of the winning teams are as follows:
