EEE team in Top 5 at RoboCup 2023

EEE Team Robo-Erectus@Work participated in the RoboCup 2023 competition from 4 to 10 Jul 2023, France and attained 5th place in RoboCup@Work League. The team also clinched 2nd place in the technical challenge of “Coworker Assembly Test”.
The competition comprised 11 university and polytechnic teams from Singapore, Iran, Germany, Greece, and Netherlands.
RoboCup@Work League is one of the Major Leagues in RoboCup competition that targets the use of robots in an industrial environment. The competition aimed to develop innovative autonomous mobile robots equipped with advanced manipulators and sensors for current and future industrial applications, where robots compliment human workers in complex tasks ranging from manufacturing and automation to artificial intelligence.
For 2023, the competition introduced new objects such as screwdriver, wrench, allen key and drill bit to better simulate the real factory environment setup. EEE team performed well despite the change, coming up 5th in RoboCup@Work League, with the top 4 places going to universities from Germany.
The team was guided by Yusuf Pranggonoh (Team Leader) and Dr. Carlos Acosta (Co-Lead). Details of the team are as follows:
