DCE students have extended paid Industrial Projects (IP) and internship from Elmich Pte Ltd and the Blue Roof Stormwater Management project has been extended into Smart Stormwater Management with multi-collaboration with ABE (DCE& DLA), AMTC, EEE for showcasing at BEX Asia 2023 (initiated by SP) and later in Arch Festival 15-16 Nov 2023 (initiated by Elmich Pte Ltd).

Rooftop detention, also known as ‘blue roof’, is designed to provide temporary storage and slow release of stormwater runoff. This technique is most commonly used in dense urban areas where other methods of stormwater detention are impractical. Blue roofs are used to detain rooftop runoff at source and reduce the rate of runoff from rooftops during rainfall events. A blue roof may be used as a standalone detention method or as part of a treatment train that includes other low impact developments such as bioretention, infiltration, or green roofs to enhance the function and improve the performance.
