DLA at Landscape Industry Association of Singapore Awards
Landscape Industry Association of Singapore (LIAS) organized the LIAS Awards of Excellence to celebrate the joyous event with a gala dinner and awards ceremony held on 1 Sep 2022. LIAS invited teaching staff from Diploma in Landscape Architecture (DLA), Mr Sonny Saculo and Ms Toh Sok Na as subject matter experts to be part of the judging panellists of the LIAS Awards.

This event marks the ninth edition of the LIAS Awards of Excellence. The awards are opened to landscape designers, practitioners, contractors and owners in the landscape and horticultural industry aiming to recognize outstanding projects with professionalism and excellent quality.

After completing his diploma with DLA in 2010, Darren Tan Yong Bin joined the landscape industry and is currently a Project Manager in Green Forest Landscape Pte Ltd. The project that won Darren and his team the silver award was the landscape design for a Good Class Bungalow with a welcoming entrance and themed garden with private enclosed spaces for the owner.
When asked to give words of encouragement to his juniors in DLA about the landscape industry, Darren says: “Within the landscape industry, it is important to be a team player, stay focused, and enjoy the endless learning opportunities.”
