Aerospace Engineering Hub
The
Aerospace Engineering Hub aims to support the Diploma in Aerospace Electronics (DASE)
and address the needs of the industry. It focuses on Aerospace related projects for student learning and working in the area of Unmanned Aircraft (UA).
Aircraft Systems and Maintenance (Electrical)
Students will learn to acquire knowledge in aircraft systems and maintenance.
Automatic Flight and Electronics Systems
Students will learn to acquire knowledge and skill in the fundamental concept and knowledge of aircraft instrument systems and autopilot system.
Communications and Navigation Systems
Students will learn to acquire knowledge and skill in the fundamental concept and knowledge of aircraft communication, navigation and radar systems.
Electrical Fundamentals
Students will learn to use LabVolt Trainer to acquire knowledge on electrical fundamentals and principle of operation of DC Motors.
Electrical Systems
Students will learn to understand the various electrical systems installed on the aircraft.
Flight Simulator and Maintenance Trainer
Students will learn the knowledge and skill in the operation of A320 Flight simulator. Students will have the real time hands-on experience in the operation of the flight simulator and learn the
function of flight instrument systems, navigation systems, autopilot systems and electrical systems.
Servomechanisms and Electronics
Students will learn to understand the operation of servomechanism.
Technology Centre – Aerospace
A development centre for Year 2 and Year 3 students to do research and build their projects
Indoor UAV Flying Area
Students will be able to operate and fly the drones at the indoor flying area as required in the curriculum such as elective (e.g. Unmanned Aircraft Flying and Drone Technologies) and internship project.
