Laboratories Supporting Communication Specialisation
Principles of Communication
The Principles of Communication lab is equipped to enhance the students’ understanding on the principles and techniques used in analogue and digital communication Systems. The students will learn to measure
signals in time and frequency domains, establish basic digital communication link to observe transmission and reception of digital signals, and experiment with sampling process, the PCM encoding and decoding processes.
Digital Signal Processing
The Digital Signal Processing lab is equipped to enhance the students’ understanding of signal processing principles and their implementations in basic digital
signal processing systems, information theory, coding, and multimedia signal processing. The students will use the related software tools to process the audio and image signals.
Optical & Satellite Comms/Wireless Communication
In Optical Fibre Communication labs, students will have hands-on to measure fibre loss & analyse events occurred in Optical fibre communication link.
In satellite communication system lab, students will learn how to measure TVRO down link parameters and explore on the use of GPS navigation sets as well as satellites available at the site location.

The
5G & AIoT Technology Hub aspires to be the catalyst that provides technical consultations, trainings, and
seminars in the areas of AI, IoT, embedded systems applications, smart devices, wireless applications, cloud computing, cybersecurity and data analytics.
