The Advanced Manufacturing Learning Journey aim to help local enterprises acquire relevant knowledge in industry 4.0 (i4.0) and explore opportunities, thereby helping them eliminate their fear of the digital disruption and encourage for i4.0 adoption. The 1,400 sqm experiential learning journey will demystify the concept of i4.0 and eliminate the misconception that plagues the SME business owners that they need to invest in innovative yet high-cost technologies to start the journey. Ultimately, the learning journey will help to build the confidence in SME business owners to take the first step in this journey and be assured that they are not alone in this endeavour.
The Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) was created by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) to help manufacturers in their transformation journey.
In this index, there are 3 fundamental building blocks of i4.0: Technology, Process, and Organisation. Underpinning them are 8 key pillars which represent the important aspects for manufactures to focus on. Finally, all 3 building blocks and 8 pillars are map onto 16 dimensions, which are the areas to evaluate the current i4.0 readiness of their facilities.
The Advanced Manufacturing Learning Journey is jointly co-developed by Singapore Polytechnic and TÜV SÜD
