Engineer your Future, Push the Boundaries of Possibilities
The School of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering (MAE) traces its roots back to 1958 when the first Technician Diploma in Mechanical Engineering was launched in Singapore.
Since then, our commitment to engineering education and excellence has remained unwavering. At MAE, our curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills that align with industry demands. Through hands-on projects, industry
collaborations, and real-world experiences, we ensure that you gain a well-rounded education that prepares you for opportunities in the engineering profession.

We pride ourselves on our strong partnerships with industries. Through internships or industry-based final-year projects, you will get to work with technology groups on research initiatives and consultancy projects to develop commercial engineering
products and solutions. This valuable experience opens doors to many job opportunities for our graduates.
As a centre of excellence in advanced manufacturing, MAE collaborates closely with industry partners to adopt advanced manufacturing and Smart Factory initiatives through co-locating industrial equipment, co-developing training materials, and co-facilitating
lessons. Our goal is to equip students with industry-relevant training for the evolving manufacturing landscape.
MAE's technical capabilities in green energy and green building development enable us to contribute to the SG Green Plan's Energy reset and Green Building Pillar. Our curriculum and industry projects prepare students for future careers in these areas,
fostering their ability to drive sustainable solutions for a better future for all.
Do you like pushing the boundaries of what is possible? Join the School of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering and shape the future with your engineering innovations.

AI and MAE
Have you ever wondered how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can play a part in saving lives? With technological advances, AI is now a ubiquitous presence in our daily routines.
As part of their Final Year Project (FYP), three students from the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) aspire to integrate AI into the medical field, offering valuable support to doctors and surgeons in making critical decisions and optimising surgical
procedures. Currently situated in Professor Theodoros Kofidis’ lab at the Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and under the guidance of Research Assistant Kim Ki Han, this trio has gained
hands-on experience with medical devices, enriching their understanding of cardiology throughout their FYP. Click onto photos to delve deeper into their journey!
