AI and DME
Have you ever wondered how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can play a part in saving lives? With technological advances, AI is now a ubiquitous presence in our daily routines.
As part of their Final Year Project (FYP), three students from the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) aspire to integrate AI into the medical field, offering valuable support to doctors and surgeons in making critical decisions and optimising surgical
procedures. Currently situated in Professor Theodoros Kofidis’ lab at the Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and under the guidance of Research Assistant Kim Ki Han, this trio has gained
hands-on experience with medical devices, enriching their understanding of cardiology throughout their FYP. Click to delve deeper into their journey!
