The SMART Recycling Receptacle for PET plastic bottles is a low cost system using a large metal roll cage to collect plastic bottles for recycling.
Our project aims to encourage recycling among local residents. Given the low cost, these cages can be deployed in large numbers to various housing estates, bringing recycling right to the doorstep.
And to encourage more recycling, the 'greener households' will be rewarded, as the Smart Recycling Receptacle is able to record the resident's address and quantity of bottles recycled with a barcode scanner and a backend processor, enabling accurate
disbusement of rewards.
