To develop train movement hand signalling procedure using Virtual Reality (VR) for the rail industry. The purpose of this project is to help trainees to recognise and practise the various types of hand signals used for signalling train movement.
With VR, an application was created for railway personnel to do recognition, practice and learning of the different hand signals, followed by tutorials to assess their learning.
In addition, the team has also improved on the handling of point-machine VR module by incorporating the entire training procedure, make-over of the train station and included an e-training package. Point machines are one of the critical assets
in the railways which staff are required to be proficient in terms of fault handling and rectification.
