Offered by the Singapore Maritime Academy of Singapore Polytechnic to Junior Officers with experience as Marine Engineers, wishing to enhance their skills and stay relevant.

Course Objective

This course aims providing knowledge, (Intermediate to Advanced Level) of operational skills in Ship Operation, to participants. They will be equipped with holistic Maritime Management skills, essential across the Maritime industry.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 
  1. Maintain a safe engine watch  
  2. Respond to emergencies
  3. Manage ship operations and care for persons, onboard at Management Level
  4. Monitor compliance with legislative requirements

Minimum Requirements

Must have a Certificate of Competency in Class 5 (Marine Engineer Officer). Letter of Eligibility is required from Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) prior to attending the course

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
