Participants will learn safety aspects of Boiler Operation, correct Operational practices in all kinds, and their maintenance. They will, subsequently, sit through an examination at the end of the course. Graduates will be eligible to apply and obtain a Class 1 Boiler Attendant Certificate of Competency, the Ministry of Manpower recognises.

This programme consists of 2 parts:
1. Training course with examination and 
2. Certificate of Competency (recognised by the Ministry of Manpower)

Lesson Breakdown for Course Dates with,

Saturday Classes Only - Total of 24hrs to be conducted online via MS Teams + Total of 12hrs practical/assessmentin SP (Official schedule will be given when class is confirmed)

*Assessment will be held on the last day from 8.30am - 12.30pm


Monday - Friday Classes - Full day lesson from 8.30am - 5.30pm (Monday - Thursday) & Assessment from 8.30am - 12.30pm (Friday)

Course Objective

This Boiler Training course is aimed at holders of the Class 2 Boiler Attendants, wishing to further escalate their knowledge base and safety awareness. In addition, the course also prepares participants for the Class 1 Boiler attendant Certificate of Competency, the Ministry of Manpower recognises.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 
  1. List Boiler designs and constructions
  2. Describe principles of steam generation plants
  3. State Boiler safe operation and control rules
  4. Demonstrate inspection techniques

  • Review Various Boiler Designs, Constructions, as well as Principles of Steam Generation Plants and Feed Water Loops                                                      
  • Boiler Mountings and their Functions                                                                              
  • Boiler Water Chemistry, Corrosion in Boiler Water                                                                            
  • Boiler Combustion and Automation                                                                
  • Boiler Safe Operation and Control                                                                      
  • Boiler Inspection, Testing, as well as Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Legislation                                            
  • Boiler Inspections and Causes of Damages, found in Inspections                                                                                                  
  • Demonstration and Practical Lesson of using Boiler House and Simulator  

Minimum Requirements

Must have at least 18 months Steam Boiler operating experience and holding the Class 2 Certificate of Competency for Boiler Attendant

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
