This course aims to train personnel to be competent Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Auditor under the WSH Qualifications framework. Applicants must meet any of the tracks stated under the Minimum Entry Requirement AND complete 1 pre-requisite module (refer below for Singapore Polytechnic’s offering).

The pre-requisite module offered by Singapore Polytechnic are Business Presentation DeliveryWorkplace Safety and Health Management in Construction Industry, Workplace Safety and Health Audit Programme Management

Course Objective

The competency-based course covers topics like WSH management system, legal requirements, audit programme, culture assessment, apply risks assessment methodologies.

Participants will learn to:

  • Apply appropriate methodologies to assess workplace safety and health risks within an organisation
  • Manage WSH audit programme to ensure compliance to organisational audit procedures and legal requirements
  • Establish and policies and work procedures to ensure organisation’s compliance to audit requirements
  • Create and maintain a workplace safety and health culture based on a common set of attitudes, behaviours, and competencies
  • Develop organisational workplace safety and health policies to ensure compliance with national regulations by applying knowledge of regulations and staying abreast of regulatory changes and practices

Develop Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) frameworks and implement procedures and practices to ensure a safe and reliable workplace environment

3. Hazards Identification 
4. Risk Management  
5. Technical Writing 
6. Workplace Safety and Health Audit System Management 
7. Workplace Safety and Health Control Measures 
8. Workplace Safety and Health Culture Management 
9. Workplace Safety and Health Incident Management 
10. Workplace Safety and Health Performance Management 
11. Workplace Safety and Health Policy Development 
12. Workplace Safety and Health System Management 
13. Workplace Communications

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must complete 1 pre-requisite module (refer above for Singapore Polytechnic’s offering) AND meet any of the tracks stated below:

Track 1

A recognised WSH degree qualification for WSHO registration with MOM(1); AND

At least 2 years of post WSH qualification working experience as a WSH officer or similar occupational role


OR

Track 2

Technology / Science-related / Engineering diploma/degree from local autonomous universities or polytechnics; AND

Specialist Diploma in WSH qualification (Level C); AND

At least 2 years of post WSH qualification working experience as a WSH officer or similar occupational role


OR

Track 3

GCE 'O' Level English & Mathematics grade B4 or ES Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 7; AND

Specialist Diploma in WSH qualification (Level C); AND

At least 2 years of post WSH qualification working experience as a WSH officer or similar occupational role


Note:
(1) Foreign qualifications to be considered with reference to Professional Engineers (Approved Qualifications) Notification from the Professional Engineers Board Singapore
"Post-qualification working experience" refers to 2 years of work experience after awarded SDWSH or equivalent

Certification / Accreditation

Statement of Attainment
  • A Statement of Attainment for each module will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
  • Upon completion of all modules, participants will be issued a transcript and a Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health Certificate
  • Participants will be able to download their Statement of Attainment from MySkillsFuture Portal here.

The programme will be relevant to supervisors & managers who want to become a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

As per SSG’s policy, the GST payable for all funding-eligible applicants is calculated based on prevailing GST rate after full course fees (before GST).
