The uniqueness of this course is having this consortium consisting of Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) under A*Star, TUV SUD and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) which provides a 360-degrees coverage of the expertise, skills and experience needed to provide a high level quality outcome for the participants.

This course supports companies in their post COVID-19 prioritisation of their digitalisation efforts, based on a framework taking into account the company:

1. Digital Readiness,
2. Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) and / or
3. Performance focus.

It will provide practical insights, use cases and demos describing how to integrate digitally the vertical and horizontal processes as well as the product lifecycle within a manufacturing facility. These being the fundamental digitalisation steps, together with other key pillars like automation, connectivity, intelligence, talent readiness, inter and intra company collaboration and strategy and governance.

Course Objective

The course aims to provide participants with the essential knowledge of the various key technologies needed to initiate or partake in an end-to-end vertical integration of IT (Information Technologies) and OT (Operation Technologies) in the manufacturing environment. Primarily focusing on the shopfloor, the course will explain in depth the 5 different layers of the automation pyramid (ISA-95 / RAMI 4.0) and which technologies are used as enabler of Industry 4.0. Key concepts of automation, connectivity and interoperability will also be part of the module.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Apply the basic standards used in manufacturing automation (i4.0)
2. Explain the various levels in automation pyramid (ISA95)
3. Outline specific technologies used in automation pyramid layers

Minimum Requirements

Have relevant experience in manufacturing and basic knowledge of how to prioritise digitalisation. Attending SP’s course on “Prioritizing Digitalization in Manufacturing for post COVID-19” is advised.

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Performance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
