How we work is vastly different from what it used to be five years ago. It’s probably going to be even more so after five years.

Technology has become vastly more important. Requirements are constantly evolving. Skill sets need to be honed as well as expanded to ensure we don’t fall behind

SkillsFuture has been designed to help Singaporeans from all backgrounds keep up with the changing workplace and strive towards a brighter and more confident future. Here are 5 ways in which SkillsFuture helps YOU own a better future.

  1. SkillsFuture: There’s Something for Everybody

Are you a student starting out in life? Are you fresh out of the university, working and dreaming for a better future? Or are you a mid-career professional? SkillsFuture has plenty of options for all of you. It even has multiple benefits for employers and training providers, so it’s an all-inclusive programme.

  2. Variety of Resources

SkillsFuture has a variety of resources for professionals to upskill. For example:

There are also highly subsidised courses for every Singaporean to hone specific skills at any point in their life.

  3. Helps Learn New Skills

SkillsFuture offers Enhanced Internship opportunities for students to learn and apply new skills. There are also short courses comprising several modules to help reskill the unemployed people or those with outdated skills. SkillsFuture even assists mid-career professionals to switch to a different domain or expand their skill set by learning a new skill.

  4. Helps Upgrade Skills

Updating your skills can not only help you prepare for the job requirements of the future but also become more efficient in your current job. Initiatives like SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace aim at helping every Singaporean understand trends and evolving technology. Cash prizes are awarded to encourage workers to upgrade by earning WSQ qualifications.

  5. Helps Deepen Skills

SkillsFuture Study Awards provides additional support for Singaporeans to deepen skills needed to maximise one’s potential and take on jobs for the future. The award also supports people, who already have deep skills in one domain to develop specialist skills in other domain(s). Mastering a skill also makes one eligible for Singapore’s Highest Skills Award - SkillsFuture Fellowships accompanied by cash prizes.
  • SkillsFuture Credit -- Under SkillsFuture, any Singaporean, 25 years old and above, can receive SkillsFuture Credit of S$500 to pay for courses, which is part of the scheme.
