Alongside with Singapore Government’s SkillsFuture movement launched in 2016, the focus and benefits of lifelong learning have become more important than before.
Motivated by subsidies and other incentives offered by the SkillsFuture Series, a growing number of Singaporeans are signing up for courses that enhance their skills, or help them acquire new ones.
At Singapore Polytechnic (SP) Professional and Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy, our vision is to be Singapore’s leading Continuing Education and Training (CET) Academy that offers unique learning experiences to adult learners. Our mission is to offer them a wide range of industry-relevant courses to increase their employability.
Singapore Polytechnic (SP) is one of the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) co-leading the SkillsFuture Series for Advanced Manufacturing, launched in November 2017. Advanced Manufacturing refers to the method of using emerging technologies, such as Robotics and Smart Manufacturing, in the manufacturing process.
Advanced Manufacturing is one of the 8 priority and emerging skill areas under the SkillsFuture Series. Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), responsible for planning Singapore’s progress in business and innovation, anticipates advanced manufacturing will change the job scenario in Singapore by 2024, and helps shape Singapore’s smart future.
From January 2016, 25-year old Singaporeans and above are eligible for an initial credit of $500, which they can use to pay for selected courses under the SkillsFuture Series. All CET Diploma, Post-Diploma Courses and several short courses are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit.
A skilled workforce is an asset for every organisation. Its skills need to be updated from time to time. We understand this and offer workshops that are designed to meet the unique needs of each organisation. SP PACE Academy also helps learners assess their training requirements and provide them with a training roadmap.
What’s more, we offer industry recognised courses. Designed by industry practitioners and lecturers, each of our courses is targeted at increasing productivity and enhancing skills.
