Course Objective

This is an examination for 1st Grade Steam Boiler Engineer - Engineering Materials II module.

Minimum Requirements

Participants must have attended the Certificate Course and have failed the module.

Certification / Accreditation

  • Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
  • A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the examination and meet at least 75% attendance rate
  • Examination results and issuance of the certificate will be notified via email at the end of each semester (Oct / Apr).

Suitable for

Participants must have attended the Certificate Course and have failed the module.

Important Notes:
  1. Participants who are attending our Certificate Course are not required to register for this.
  2. The maximum period of time that a candidate may take to achieve a pass in all prescribed 1st Grade Steam Engineer modules/examinations is 5 years. Candidates will have to retake all modules/examinations if this time limit is breached.
  3. Upon successful completion of all prescribed 1st Grade Steam Engineer modules/examinations, you may apply for the Certificate of Competency 1st Grade Steam Engineer.
  4. Applicants who registered for 2nd Grade Steam Engineer modules are not allowed to register for 1st Grade Steam Engineer modules, and vice versa.
  5. Candidates are advised that passing all the relevant SP modules and examination does not automatically entitle them to the award of the Certificate of Competency. The Board (of MOM) may impose additional requirements and conditions, where applicable, for the award of the Certificate of Competency.
  6. Please note that ‘swapping’ or ‘replacement’ among colleagues for an absent applicant is not allowed.
