Course Objective

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP), Place-and-Train (PnT) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Professionals aims to equip Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (“PMETs”) with the relevant skills and competencies to take on job roles in the biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry.

The target beneficiaries are Singapore Citizens (SCs) or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) who are:

Mid-career individuals who are seeking to acquire new skills in, or switch careersand take on biopharmaceuticals manufacturing related job roles

Course Outline

There are a total of 12 Core Modules under Singapore Polytechnic to choose from:

Biologics Track

  1. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
  2. Apply Continuous Process Improvement Techniques
  3. Apply Safety in Process Plant

Pharmaceuticals Track

  1. Operate Inoculation and Fermentation Reactors
  2. Operate Single-Use Technologies
  3. Operate Tangential Flow Filtration Process Equipment

Cell & Gene Therapy

  1. Apply Aseptic Cell Culture Techniques
  2. Illustrate a Lifecycle Plan for a Manufacturing Facility
  3. Operate Single-Use Technologies 

On-the-Job Training (OJT)

  1. Depending on trainee position.

Minimum Requirements

Possess at least an Engineering / Science related NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma / Degree

Certification / Accreditation

An e-Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate.

Suitable for

For Individuals:

The Programme is open to all company-sponsored applicants (SCs and PRs) who meet the following General Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least two years prior at the point of application
  • Must not be in the same job role prior to joining the PCP
  • Have no bond obligation with any organisation
  • Meet employer or course-specific selection criteria, where applicable
  • Newly hired within the last 3 months, and nominated by an eligible company prior to enrolment into the programme

For Participating Companies:

  • Be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Ensure that new hires cannot be:
    • A shareholder of the PCP company, or its related companies;
    • Related to the owner(s) of the PCP company; and
    • Immediate ex-staff of PCP company or its related companies;
  • Must offer the new hire a job and issue a valid permanent employment contract; full-time contract employment must be at least 12 months
  • Conversions can be inter-sectoral or intra-sectoral1
  • Must be able to provide structured OJT training for the candidate.

1Inter-sectoral refers to a new job in a different sector, intra-sectoral refers to a different job in the same sector

The Salary Support will commensurate with their academic qualifications and working experience. Companies are not eligible to submit Absentee Payroll claims on behalf of trainees who are in the programme.
