Designed for Engineering diplomas graduates (or degree in Engineering), seeking an opportunity converting their skills into sea going Marine Engineers.

 

Course Objective

This course aims preparing participants for the Class 5 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) with the operational skills in Ship Engine Room Operation, according to training standards from International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch Keeping for Seafarer (STCW).

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 
  1. Evaluate appropriate tools for fabrication, repairs, dismantling/reassembly, and maintenance on-board ships
  2. Apply Marine Engineering knowledge to assist Senior Marine Engineers in providing services to smoothly run ship machinery
  3. Collaborate with Senior Marine Engineers by assisting them with maintaining Marine propulsion and auxiliary machinery at Operational Level
  4. Demonstrate duties consistent with required safety and environmental regulations
  5. Perform duties effectively on technical matters relating to shipboard practices with personnel at all levels

Minimum Requirements

Diploma in any Engineering discipline for local candidates.
For overseas qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering
