The banking and finance industry is undergoing rapid changes.  As the evolving digital climate change the sector and its employment prospects, financial sector professionals need to be equipped with skills to stay relevant and secure meaningful roles in the new financial setting. 

SP School of Business’ Specialist Diploma in Technology, Innovation & Analytics for Financial Sector Professionals will enable middle level managers working in the financial sector to acquire further knowledge and skills within their trained discipline areas and value add to their organisation.  This course also allows the participant to explore areas of new job opportunities within the sector based on the future-enabled skillset identified by the Institute of Banking and Finance.

Course Objective

This course aims to equip the participants with future-enabled skills
 
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able:

  • To learn and apply new Technologies & Tools used in the financial sector
  • To use Data Analytics to improve on Decision-Making Processes
  • To adopt a Human-Centric approach to Innovation and Customer Engagement
  • To learn and manage Cyber Risks faced by financial institutions
  • To understand Disruptive Fintech Innovations to the financial sector

Course Outline

The course is a one-year part-time programme consisting of two Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs) with one PDC conducted in each semester.  Each PDC comprises three modules.  Classes will be conducted in two evenings per week for 15 weeks each semester.

The modules for the two PDCs are:

PDC 1: Certificate In Enhanced Skills for Finance in Analytics & Innovation

Module 1:   Human-centric Innovation & Change Management
Module 2:   Fintech & Digital Transformation in Banking   
Module 3:   Applied Financial Analytics

PDC 2: Certificate In Applied Technologies in Financial Institutions

Module 1:   Integrated Digital Marketing Communications and Platforms 
Module 2:   AI & Process Automation in Financial Institutions  
Module 3:   Essentials of Cyber Security in Financial Institutions

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should preferably have a Polytechnic Diploma or Degree in Business. Applicants with a Polytechnic Diploma or Degree in non-Business disciplines will be eligible for consideration as well.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of competency readiness.

The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist eligible applicants and admit applicants who perform well in the interview if required.

Certification / Accreditation


Upon completion of the modules in each semester, the participant will be awarded one Post-Diploma Certificates (PDC) respectively.

Upon successfully acquiring the two PDCs within the 2-year validity period, the participant will be conferred a Specialist Diploma in Technology, Innovation & Analytics for Financial Sector Professionals qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.

Suitable for

This course is specially designed for middle managers currently working or with experience in the financial sector whose jobs are impacted by digital transformation and need to learn, incorporate and use technology in their workplace.

With the skills and knowledge gained from this course, the participant will be able to stay relevant in the evolving digital transformation in the banking and finance sector.

Application Procedure

1. For self-sponsored applicant, please click on the “Register” button to apply for the course. You will be directed to STEP portal to manage all your course activities. Please note that you will be prompted to sign in with Singpass/Student ID.
 
2. For company-sponsored applicant, please approach your company's Human Resource (HR) team to put in the application through the company portal using CorpPass.  You may only apply after receiving the registration link from your company's HR.
 
3. Your application does not guarantee acceptance into the course. Your acceptance into the course is dependent on meeting the course requirements and course vacancy.
 
4. Non‐Singaporeans must possess a valid Employment Pass / Work Permit / Dependant Pass throughout the course duration. You would need to bear the full risk of non-completion should your pass expire and subsequently lapse within the duration of the course.
 
5. You will be notified by email on the application outcome 6 weeks after the application’s closing date. 
 
6. PACE Academy course schedules, including course trainer, course fees and course availability are subject to change.

7. PACE Academy reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course at short notice; & at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason for such cancellation/postponements. In the event that the applicant’s chosen course is cancelled prior to its commencement, PACE Academy will make a full refund of course fees already paid by the applicant.
