This course is project based learning. The course include the basic science of active ingredient process, encapsulation technology, health, safety and environmental Management and work place project, where technology transfer is enabled.
This course equips participants with the necessary knowledge in the areas of active ingredient, encapsulation, chemical process, safety and evaluation.
After training, a prototyping sample with information sheet or prototype process will be ready for company adoption. Participants will be able to use these skills to develop the new products.
By the end of the Course, participants will be able to:
1. Produce a prototype sample with an active ingredient selected or encapsulated material
2. Explain the process in extraction or encapsulation to create a product using the active ingredients or encapsulated material
3. Evaluate the developed prototype sample with respect to a commercial product
4. Apply the learned skills to chemical process development
5. Implement safety control measures to the real working environment.
Topics to be covered
1. Ingredient process and its Health, Safety and Environmental Management.
2. Functionality and evaluation of active ingredient
3. Encapsulation technologies and their application
4. Hands-on experiments
