Course Introduction:

Cloud Computing is one of the basic building blocks to support the vision of Singapore as a Smart Nation. Skills associated to architecting and building the novel technology solutions with Cloud Computing is in demand by various business entities. 

Upskilling in the area of Cloud Computing is necessary for the information technology (IT) workforce to adapt in tandem with the rapid development in the computing technology.  As business landscape changes over time, the future-readiness of IT workforce to remain competitively employable is crucial.

Course Objective

The Specialist Diploma in Cloud Computing (DevOps) - aims to equip participants with the following critical knowledge and skills in Cloud Computing:

  • Hands-on practical experience in Cloud Computing fundamentals.
  • Training in developing cloud-native applications.

Course Outline

Post Diploma Certificate 1 (PDC1) – Fundamentals of Cloud Computing 
• Module 1: Cloud Foundations
• Module 2: Linux System Administration

Post Diploma Certificate 2 (PDC2) – Cloud Development and Deployment 
• Module 3: Web Development
• Module 4: Cloud Developing

Graduates of Specialist Diploma in Cloud Computing (Architecture) are exempted from PDC1. Similarly, graduate of Specialist Diploma in Cloud Computing (DevOps) are exempted from PDC1 when they enrol in Specialist Diploma in Cloud Computing (Architecture).

Minimum Requirements

  • Interested candidates must possess applicable professional experiences and/or Diploma and above qualifications in the following area: Computing, IT or Engineering
  • Basic programming background will be beneficial, however relevant portfolio and/or working experience may also be considered
  • Candidates will be accessed on a case-by-case basis on their suitability and alignment to conditions for exemptions.
  • Trainees who completed relevant modules will be given exemption which amounts to 50%

Certification / Accreditation

 

Upon completion of the modules in each semester, the participant will be awarded one Post-Diploma Certificates (PDC) respectively.

Upon successfully acquiring the two PDCs, the participant will be conferred a Specialist Diploma in Cloud Computing (DevOps) qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.

Application Procedure

1. For self-sponsored applicant, please click on the “Register” button to apply for the course. You will be directed to STEP portal to manage all your course activities. Please note that you will be prompted to sign in with Singpass/Student ID.
 
2. For company-sponsored applicant, please approach your company's Human Resource (HR) team to put in the application through the company portal using CorpPass.  You may only apply after receiving the registration link from your company's HR.
 
3. Your application does not guarantee acceptance into the course. Your acceptance into the course is dependent on meeting the course requirements and course vacancy.
 
4. Non‐Singaporeans must possess a valid Employment Pass / Work Permit / Dependant Pass throughout the course duration. You would need to bear the full risk of non-completion should your pass expire and subsequently lapse within the duration of the course.
 
5. You will be notified by email on the application outcome 6 weeks after the application’s closing date. 
 
6. PACE Academy course schedules, including course trainer, course fees and course availability are subject to change.

7. PACE Academy reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course at short notice; & at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason for such cancellation/postponements. In the event that the applicant’s chosen course is cancelled prior to its commencement, PACE Academy will make a full refund of course fees already paid by the applicant.
