This Micro-Credential in Human Resource (HR) Innovation – Data Presentation and Organisational Diagnosis in Design Thinking is a collaborative endeavour brought to you by Singapore Polytechnic, School of Business in partnership with the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP). This micro-credential equips HR professionals with the essential skills to analyse and draw insights from HR data for the purpose of diagnosing key user needs or issues within the organisation and to identify ways to optimise organisation effectiveness. Upon successful completion, participants can apply for an IHRP Skills Badge, underscoring their expertise and dedication to advancing the HR field.

This micro-credential is designed for HR professionals seeking to enhance their analytical and problem-solving competencies – through the distillation of HR insights, and the ability to reframe HR challenges in human-centric design. Whether you are a HR executive or manager, this program equips you with the skills necessary to enhance your problem-solving capabilities for strategic advantage.

This is a 5-week part-time course with lessons conducted in a blended learning mode, including in-class teaching and synchronised online lessons (in the evening), and face-to-face assessment.

Course Objective

This micro-credential course is designed to equip participants with the working knowledge and skills in framing or reframing issues or challenges through Design Thinking. Participants will apply design thinking methodologies to define Human Resource (HR) problems and generate new ideas and communicate the distilled HR-related insights for design ideas.

Course Outline

By the end of the Course, participants will be able to:  

  1. Apply design thinking methodologies to define HR problems. 

  1. Determine the objectives and scopes for evaluating effectiveness of HR operations/programmes. 

  1. Construct User Need Statements in Design Thinking projects. 

  1. Develop Persona in User Journey Maps.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have at least 1 year of working experience in the area of human resources and have prior knowledge on HR data collection and preparation in Design Thinking.

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
