Only candidates who are shortlisted by SP and hosting companies will be notified to attend interviews. Successful candidates employed by the hosting companies will be placed under the programme. 

Course Objective

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for the Medical Technology Industry aims to equip Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (“PMETs”) and Rank-and-File workers (“RnF”) with the relevant skills and competencies for a successful career conversion in the Medical Technology sector.

The target beneficiaries are Singapore Citizens (SCs) or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) who are:

(a) Mid-career individuals who are seeking to acquire new skills in, or switch careers and take on Medical Technology related job roles

Course Outline

There are a total of 12 Core Modules under Singapore Polytechnic to choose from:

3. Apply Process Quality Control Techniques
4. Operate in Controlled Clean Room Environment
5. Apply cGMP Requirements in the Workplace
6. Apply Workplace Safety and Health Practices*
7. Use Process Drawings, Diagrams, Schedules and Manuals*
8. Apply Injection Moulding technology for Medical Devices*
9. Control and Operate Bio Manufacturing Process*
10. Control Precision Machining for Medical Technology*
11. Design of Biomedical Devices*
12. Manage Regulatory Requirements for Medical Devices*

*Assessment-Only-Pathway (AOP) option available.

On-the-Job Training (OJT)
• Depending on trainee position.

Minimum Requirements

ITE certificate, Diploma or Degree in Engineering / Science / Technology

Certification / Accreditation

• An e-Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate.

Suitable for

For Individuals:

The Programme is open to all company-sponsored applicants (SCs and PRs) who meet the following General Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum 21 years old
• Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least two years prior at the point of application
• Must not be in the same job role prior to joining the PCP
• Have no bond obligation with any organisation
• Meet employer or course-specific selection criteria, where applicable
• Newly hired within the last 3 months, and nominated by an eligible company prior to enrolment into the programme 

For Participating Companies:

• Be registered or incorporated in Singapore
• Ensure that new hires cannot be:

o A shareholder of the PCP company, or its related companies;
o Related to the owner(s) of the PCP company; and
o Immediate ex-staff of PCP company or its related companies;

• Must offer the new hire a job and issue a valid permanent employment contract; full-time contract employment must be at least 12 months
• Conversions can be inter-sectoral or intra-sectoral1
• Must be able to provide structured OJT training for the candidate.

1Inter-sectoral refers to a new job in a different sector, intra-sectoral refers to a different job in the same sector

The Salary Support will commensurate with their academic qualifications and working experience. Companies are not eligible to submit Absentee Payroll claims on behalf of trainees who are in the programme.
