Course Objective

Mentoring is essential. Having a mentor benefits every staff, and ultimately, the organisation. As mentees and mentors become more engaged, work productivity increases, and company culture may also improve.

This course will train participants on how to guide their staff in developing skills, strategies and capabilities for future growth and development, as well as to build their teams through mentoring.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 
1. Describe the benefits and challenges of workplace mentoring
2. Identify mentoring as workplace learning intervention
3. Use appropriate types and models of mentoring 
4. Identify roles and responsibilities of mentors and mentees
5. Deploy the different mentoring tools 
6. Conduct the different phases of the mentoring process – Preparation, Negotiation, Enabling and Closing
7. Engage the mentee during the preparation phase using the initial conversation 
8. Align the mentoring journey during the negotiation phase through formulating the mentoring agreement, setting the ground rules 
9. Facilitate the enabling phase by planning ongoing conversation
10. Establish the closure of the mentoring journey through development of action plan

  • Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
    A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

    A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
