Harrowing Halloween was the first-ever Halloween programme held by Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) for the public. This project was spearheaded by SDC in partnership with Singapore Polytechnic to encourage student-led ground-up initiative, underscoring its “Youth for Youth” approach to co-creating programs.
The ticketed programme comprised of a haunted house, chill-out zone, fringe activities, movie screenings as well as an ‘After Dark’ tour of Singapore Discovery Centre’s Permanent Exhibits Gallery (PEG). Tickets were priced at $20 each and attendees were entitled to a free drink, unlimited access to the haunted house, as well as a movie screening. Other fringe activities were free to the public.
Our role in this project was to assist in planning and executing the programme. We began by conducting market research on our target audience, and from there, we came up with proposals for the overall theme, storyline, as well as what could be done for the event. Despite many challenges like the safe management measures, we, alongside SDC’s team, brought Harrowing Halloween to life, creating many successful and memorable nights for all.
