This course equips participants with the knowledge of energy efficiency, regulations and performance standards in buildings. Design strategies, opportunities and technologies for reducing energy use in buildings are also covered.

 

Course Objective

This course covers the risks and opportunities associated in transition of the global economy towards a low-carbon development.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  1. State causes and effects of climate change
  2. Explain impacts of Nationally Determine Contributions (NDC) and Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) towards carbon future
  3. Describe the whole-of-government approach and initiatives in raising energy efficiency standard, to combat climate change
  4. Determine approaches and techniques for improving energy efficiency

  • Challenges, Existing Initiatives/Agreements to Tackle Climate Change
  • Singapore Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs)

  • Concrete Implementations of Energy Efficiency
  • Energy Efficiency Programmes

Minimum Requirements

Nitec and/or with 1-year basic Electrical experience

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
